Neptune Fountain

   Located in the heart of Altstadt (Old City), Neptune Fountain is located in Residenzplatz, next to Dom Cathedral.  Residenz Palace, built in 1600, houses a museum containing some of Salzburg’s finest artwork from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
 
   The fountain and adjoining courtyard squares are in The Sound of Music movie, when Maria (singing, “I Have Confidence”) leaves the Abbey and travels through the city while on her way to the von Trapp home.
