Schloss Hellbrunn
Scene 16

Schloss Hellbrunn is famous for its pleasure grounds and trick fountains - a Baroque Disneyland of sort, created in the 1700s for the sole purpose of entertaining the immensely rich Prince Archbishop of Salzburg and his guests.  The palace itself was built in the early 1600s.

The celebrated “pavillion” (pictured above) actually appeared in The Sound of Music movie as background for the von Trapp villa.  It was originally located on the grounds of Schloss Leopoldskron but later moved to its new home in the gardens at Hellbrunn, allowing greater access to the public.

The Hellbrunn gardens and trick fountain tour are all featured on the OFFICIAL TOUR.
