From a remote outlook high above the Salzach river valley, the Roßfeld Ringstrasse offers a complete package of alpine scenery rivaling views from any other mountaintop tourist destination. Much easier to access than Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle’s Nest), this off-the-beaten-path setting is less frequented by visitors and far more enjoyable.
Fans of The Sound of Music may recognize this familiar backdrop - it appeared in the final scene of the movie as the von Trapp family was escaping Austria. This location, with its spectacular views, is part of the OFFICIAL TOUR.
