The fiaker (pronounced: “fee-ahk-uh”), or horse-drawn carriage was once Salzburg’s main taxi transport. Today, it is mostly popular as a tourist attraction.
A visit to Salzburg wouldn’t be complete without a horse-drawn carriage ride. In the Sound of Music movie, Maria and the Children sang, “Do-Re-Mi” as they rode in a fiaker through the streets of Salzburg.
Most fiaker taxis can be hired from Residenzplatz.
